Chris Eckelkamp, 29, works in commercial lending at the Bank of Washington.
"Chris exemplifies our mission of providing outstanding service for our customers," said Buzz Eckelkamp, Bank of Washington, who nominated Eckelkamp for the Outstanding Young Professional Award.
"Chris is always eager to learn about new products within the bank that could help his customers and takes great initiative to listen and respond to their goals and objectives," Eckelkamp said. "He strives to stay in-tune to his clients' success by continuing education and then sharing that knowledge with his co-workers. Chris naturally becomes a trusted financial adviser for his customers, treating them as partners, not transactions."
Eckelkamp said Chris is a self-starter, always setting goals for himself and consistently achieving those goals.
"He never settles for mediocrity, setting high expectations for himself while also energizing his team to achieve more as well," Eckelkamp said. "He also is a dedicated team player who believes team/company success translates to individual success, not the inverse. He's always ready to learn and lend a hand with any project at the bank and brings new ideas and strategies along with him."
A graduate of St. Francis Borgia Regional High School, Chris earned a degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University.
He is currently president of Downtown Washington Inc., a member of the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Athletic Association, the Washington Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Borgia Parish. He also coaches youth basketball.
Chris and his wife, Kayla, reside in Washington.
